Your Future Work Environment

You follow up on issues until they’re resolved—not until someone responds.

We’re not looking for an assistant, but rather an extension of our department leadership: someone who coordinates, follows up on, and brings projects to a close across software development, product, and presales. You don’t have to know everything from day one—we’ll teach you the tools of the trade. What you do need is the willingness to take on responsibility instead of waiting for instructions.

The Specific Group is an international software and IT consulting firm based in Vienna. You’ll work closely with division leadership—where development, clients, sales, and management all come together—and gain insight into real projects and decision-making from day one.

What It’s All About

You ensure that no issues fall through the cracks between departments. Specifically:

  • Coordinate development initiatives across teams and stakeholders
  • Track and follow up on requirements, open questions, and customer concerns
  • Support presales: customer input, solution descriptions, proposals, effort estimates
  • Prepare presentations, meeting notes, action lists, and briefings
  • Identify and address risks and unclear ownership early on

The topics may change, but your guiding principle remains the same: turning unclear input into clear next steps.

Responsibilities & Expectations

What Matters to Us – Character

We’ll teach you the technical skills, but not your mindset: reliable, curious, organized, hands-on, and honest. You work independently, stay calm under pressure, and keep digging even when things get tough.

You’re a good fit if you:

  • communicate clearly in English and German
  • You have an interest in software, presales, and delivery
  • consistently follow up on matters and actively drive issues forward
  • you can juggle multiple topics at once without losing track of them
  • enjoy working with AI tools and use them effectively

Nice-to-have: Experience in IT consulting, SaaS, or support, as well as in customer communication. A basic understanding of the cloud, APIs, or tools like Jira is helpful—you’ll learn everything else on the job.

Benefits

What’s in it for you

A career path with prospects: You’ll gain first-hand experience in software delivery and presales, work with AI tools, and—depending on your strengths—grow into a role as a project manager or IT consultant.

Here’s how the process works: Apply → short phone call → technical interview with a brief hands-on test on-site → final interview. You’ll know where you stand in about 2–3 weeks.
