Test Automation Engineer – Playwright & TypeScript | Senior Team
One of our banking clients is running an extensive test automation project using Playwright and TypeScript—with custom in-project tools, PowerShell automation, and AI that analyzes the test results in the pipeline on a daily basis. The team is currently migrating its suite from Tosca to Playwright.
Your Future Work Environment
You’ll be working on a mature project as part of the test automation team, involving tens of thousands of lines of TypeScript, in-house tools (credentials manager, PDF comparison, API client), and AI-powered workflows. CI/CD currently runs on Jenkins pipelines, and the switch to GitHub Actions is scheduled for next year.

Responsibilities & Expectations
Your First Few Months
You’ll familiarize yourself with Repo and the toolchain and quickly write your first independent Playwright tests. After that, you’ll take the lead in migrating existing Tosca cases to Playwright and work confidently with the project tools and AI skills. You’ll coordinate the specific goals for the first 3, 6, and 9 months with the Senior during your first week.
What you do
- You write end-to-end tests in Playwright using TypeScript.
- You are migrating existing Tosca tests to Playwright.
- You use the project’s own tools and the team’s AI instructions in your day-to-day testing work.
- You analyze test runs—including the AI-powered pipeline reports—and keep the suite running smoothly.
Your Profile
- You’ve been working in test automation or software development for several years and are confident in coding in JavaScript/TypeScript.
- You have worked with a modern end-to-end (E2E) testing framework—ideally Playwright (Cypress, Selenium/WebdriverIO, or similar are a good starting point).
- Git and code review are part of your daily routine.
- Learning Mindset: The project regularly conducts proof-of-concept tests, will switch to a new CI platform next year, and uses AI—so embracing new ideas is the norm here.
A plus (not a must)
- Tosca / ToscaCommand – particularly valuable right now due to the ongoing migration.
- API testing, SQL/DB queries, PowerShell, experience with AI-powered workflows.
